Senior Reservoir Engineer / Project Manager

Beicip-Franlab is a world-leading consulting company providing software and services to help oil and gas professionals interpret subsurface data and assess exploration and production risks and opportunities. Beicip-Franlab is also actively involved in Energy Transition projects, including underground CO2 storage (CCUS), geothermal studies and hydrogen storage.
As the successful candidate, you will play a key technical and project leadership role within integrated multidisciplinary teams composed of geophysicists, geologists and reservoir engineers. You will lead and contribute to high-value subsurface studies, combining strong reservoir engineering expertise with the ability to coordinate teams, manage client interactions and ensure successful project delivery.
You will conduct detailed production performance analyses, build and use dynamic simulation models, and propose optimized field development plans, including EOR schemes, for clients worldwide. You will use the Company’s innovative reservoir simulation software as well as other standard industry tools. Reporting directly to the Reservoir Engineering Department Manager, you will be based in our main office in France, near Paris.
Responsibilities:
Acting as Senior Reservoir Engineer / Project Manager, you will be expected to combine advanced technical expertise with strong project management capabilities. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Lead reservoir engineering analyses and dynamic simulation studies, including model initialization, history matching and performance prediction.
- Act as Project Manager for integrated subsurface studies, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring clear technical direction.
- Manage project execution by monitoring scope, planning, budget, deliverables, risks and priorities throughout the study lifecycle.
- Interact confidently with clients to ensure smooth communication, alignment on expectations and timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Propose and apply creative workflows using leading-edge technologies and tools.
- Promote integration between technical disciplines to enhance the understanding and resolution of subsurface challenges.
- Mentor junior reservoir engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the department.

Profil recherché
- MSc / PhD in Petroleum or Reservoir Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in reservoir engineering.
- Strong skills in reservoir simulation, with at least 10 years of hands-on experience (eg. Petrel, Eclipse, IX, CMG, tNav, ...).
- Proven ability to manage or coordinate technical projects, including planning, client communication, deliverable follow-up and multidisciplinary team coordination.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- A confident and assertive personality, with the ability to provide effective technical leadership and make sound project decisions.
- Previous experience in publishing and presenting technical papers.
- Previous overseas experience would be advantageous.
- Fluent English is mandatory; French and Spanish would be advantageous.
- Commitment to mobility, as the role may include short-term and long-term overseas missions.
- Legal right to work in France without company sponsorship.
